Call 480-759-5120, 602-369-8906 or e-mail ahwatukeecomedyclub@cox.net Simple rules to follow: Contest starts 9 PM following regular scheduled shows. Visit www.cleancomedyclub.com for information in regards to regular scheduled shows. The competition goes on until all registered competitors have performed. Each competitor is allowed maximum 3 minutes and monitored by AhwatukeeComedyClub’s comedy judges! Please notice: the contestants cannot use profanity. Cost to compete is only $25. Invite friends, fans and supporters! Remember: The more supporters the more votes! No limitation on how many you can bring! Each fan/supporter pays $5.00 at the door or you collect the money from them and pay when you show up not later than 15 minutes before 9 PM. You will be checked off the application form you emailed! The audience will consist of your supporters and "spill over" attendees from the regular show. Each attendee will have one vote. The contestant with the most votes goes automatically to the final in June. The judges can approve an additional 2 to 4 contestants to go to the final. Contestant not qualifying can compete next month again but need to re-register and bring 5 or more $5 ea paying supporters. Apply by E-mail form to ahwatukeecomedyclub@cox.net at least 2 days prior to the event. The final, Sep 19, will have a maximum of 12 contestants competing in two rounds. First round will be judged by a panel of qualified judges eliminating 7 contestants. The remaining 5 contestants will then go on to round 2. The contestant with the most popular votes from the attendees will be declared the winner of the competition. 1st Prize a 10 min gig at the Broadway Comedy Club NY. Tim Davis is providing this very unique opportunity for the winner to appear at this hot spot in the Richard Pryor's room. Tim Davis used t live here in Phoenix and appeared regular at the Ahwatukee Comedy Club. Depending upon number of participants, Ahwatukee Comedy Club will, provide a cash allowance towards air fare and lodging. The more participants in the contest the bigger the allowance! Tim Davis, who has coached top comedians that have appeared on Leno, Letterman and Comedy Central. He's been teaching for decades how a joke is told by using timing, intensity of reaction and riffing. This skills can also be used for business and sales presentations.
